Class Description:
This intermediate level class will teach you the essentials steps to answer the call for an on-camera media interview. In this session, Marisa will share her secrets on pitching producers, securing sponsors, and knowing what to say, as well as, how to handle on air questions. Attendees will learn how to get organized for an on-camera session and how to create a functional and attractive tablescape that the camera and crew will love.
Using stories and real-life examples, this session will help attendees realize that they have what it takes to step out from behind the computer to share their food with a new audience. It will build confidence and provide practical tips and strategies that can be used right away! So bring a notepad and all of your questions for this engaging session.

Marisa is a nationally recognized registered dietitian nutritionist, communications, and culinary nutrition expert. Her practical approach to providing healthy and delicious recipes coupled with science-based nutrition advice is regularly featured in the nation’s leading media outlets including CNN, the TODAY Show, Dr. Oz. Show, Women’s Health, Prevention, and many more.
She is a consultant to food and nutrition companies, contributing editor for Food and Nutrition Magazine, and contributor to People magazine and US News and World Report. She has served as on-screen talent for clients HealthDay, Grapes from California, Food & Nutrition Magazine, and more! Before launching her consultancy, Marisa worked as an outpatient dietitian, corporate nutritionist for a restaurant chain and managed the employee worksite nutrition program at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She now spends her days doing any variety of work in front of and behind the camera as a media dietitian and food blogger.
